Herdus House, Cumbria
Here at the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), we're responsible for the efficient clean up of the UK's nuclear legacy. Making sure that everything is as it should be across the country, our work is complex but fascinating. And procurement is vital to our success. As our Procurement Manager, you'll never settle for anything less than great value, meaning you'll positively shape the future of nuclear.
With an impressive background in public sector procurement, you'll lead the development of our policies, procedures and strategies. It's about managing exercises from inception to completion - always complying with Public Contract Regulations and HMG procurement policies. Much of the role will see you managing contracts. As part of this, you'll manage all tender activities, develop documentation and recommend crucial procurement decisions.
Importantly, you'll also determine the best route to market and lead commercial negotiations. With outstanding communication skills, you'll naturally instil trust and inspire confidence in those you work with. And you'll take an active role in representing us up to executive level, along with influencing senior decision-making.
To join, you'll need knowledge of legal issues, thorough working experience of the Public Contract Regulations, government procedures relating to procurement and contract management. Ideally, you'll also support the best use of public sector framework agreements. But more importantly, you'll confidently manage priorities and lead large procurements. A natural problem-solver, you'll be a strong decision-maker with a proactive and collaborative approach.
MCIPS membership would be an advantage.
