Prospero teaching are actively seeking a Lecturer with experience with students with Special Education Needs school in Croydon

The school provides an education and support for students with severe and complex learning disabilities and the aim is to encourage students to lead meaningful lives as they transition from childhood to young adulthood.

The purpose of the role is to
*Plan and prepare courses and lessons in line with the requirements of external accrediting bodies
*Prepare and deliver innovative and stimulating classes and activities,
*Working with learning support workers, students and volunteers during the curriculum delivery
*Plan lessons to meet with targets and within the national curriculum
*Assess, record and report on the development, progress and attainment of learners
*Maintain accurate records

General Duties:
*Attend staff meetings and liaise with other professionals
*Assist in the recruitment and hiring of staff both teaching and support

The school are ideally seeking someone with:
*1 year + experience in working with children or adults with severe, complex and profound learning difficulties and/or Autism
*1 year experience in leading classroom support as a Higher Learning Teaching Assistant
*Familiarity with using Intensive interaction, rebound therapy, symbols, Makaton signing, Objects of reference, PECS, TEACHH or SPELL

GCSE (Grade C or above) / ALevel English and Maths at pass grade. Be prepared to achieve a PCET teaching qualification.
PCET Certificate / Diploma CTLLS B.Ed or PGCE C&G 7407 Additional specialist qualifications or in-service training.
