OnSide Youth Zones

Grants and Trusts Manager

Up to GBP40,000 (dependent on experience)

Bolton, Greater Manchester

A rewarding role for an influential and highly motivated individual to generate income streams to fund the work of OnSide and the network of Youth Zones, which offer young people somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

OnSide is a charity with one simple aim ??? to build a network of 21 st century Youth Zones, giving young people safe and inspiring places to go in their leisure time; see what this means at . We have over 30,000 young people who are members of the eight open Youth Zones, including 3,500 disabled young people engaged, with the next phase of openings to include three Youth Zones in London. The Youth Zone teams have supported over 800 young people into education, employment or training, and over 200 young people are mentored each month. Each Youth Zone is typically a GBP6 million project, open seven days a week, with state-of-the-art facilities for a wide range of sporting, artistic and recreational activities. OnSide has already raised GBP100 million of funding and the success of the Youth Zones has attracted recognition in national and local government circles.

The Role

This pivotal role will have responsibility for securing income from a variety of sources to fund the work of OnSide and the Youth Zones, enabling more young people to have access to recreational activities and targeted services. You will build strong relationships with trusts, foundations and other organisations to secure funding, while continually identifying further opportunities for growth in funding.

The Person

You will have experience of creating compelling cases of support, raising substantial income and managing relationships at a high level, alongside a desire to use your skills to "make a difference". With strong and persuasive communications skills and knowledge of the main sources of relevant grants, you are able to maintain a clear overview of complex data, have excellent research skills and work calmly under pressure to meet deadlines.
