The Strategic Planning Office provides professional services to support the University, its managers and staff in the development, implementation and monitoring of strategic plans within a rapidly changing political, economic and legal context. We are responsible for providing innovative, analytical and practical support underpinned by data analysis to OVC and across the University to ensure delivery of our strategic aims.

We are seeking to recruit two Senior Planning Officers for a fixed term 2 year contract who will provide additional professional support within the Planning Unit, a section of the Strategic Planning Offices within the Offices of the University Secretary and reporting to the Head/Deputy Head of the External Returns and Business Intelligence, deputising where appropriate.

The role demands applied knowledge of statutory returns within the HE sector, including published datasets, and ability to understand and interpret high level external business guidance. You will have an awareness of the wider implications of data submitted within the returns. You will be required to extract, analyse and interpret data to provide Business Intelligence, reports, advice and guidance to senior colleagues across the University, providing a central contact point for one or more Faculties and Corporate Services Departments.

You will hold a relevant degree (or equivalent) or have proven relevant experience and be expected to demonstrate ability to work to very tight deadlines under pressure and independently. You will have excellent communication skills and to have outstanding working knowledge of data extraction, analysis, reporting and dissemination processes, preferably within a Planning environment.
