Principal Social Worker
South Central Region

The Children's Family Trust is a very well established Registered Charity and an independent fostering agency. We provide a full range of foster placements but specialise in long term 'Family for Life' placements. We are an expanding organisation and are seeking to appoint a Principal Social Worker in our South-Central office based in Waterlooville in Hampshire.

You will need to be a highly skilled experienced Social Work professional, registered with HCPC with good knowledge of fostering within the independent sector. As a charity we are a 'not for profit' organisation and maintain the highest standards for our children as noted in our recent Ofsted inspections. We believe our Foster Carers are our most valuable resource deserving the highest levels of support and remuneration we can offer. We work in partnership with Local Authority Social Workers committed to keeping our children safe and secure in stable and loving families.

As our Principal Social Worker, you would further develop the service in the Southern counties area by offering support to the Registered Manager, supervising, and supporting less experienced staff on professional matters, undertaking tasks delegated by the Registered Manager, developing the Trust's fostering service and enabling our continued links with universities in providing student placements. You will also hold a reduced caseload of assigned Foster Carers managing more complex issues and will deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care for children placed with the Trust.

With excellent people management skills, you will have the ability to lead and motivate an existing team of excellent staff in achieving the best possible outcomes for our children and young people. A commitment to continuous improvement and developing relationships with our Local Authority customers is essential.

In addition to the basic salary, the package for our 35 hour per week position also includes car allowance, mileage, out of hours payment, 30 Days' Annual Leave plus public holidays, Membership of BUPA (subject to Insurer approval), Life Assurance, free on-site parking and employer pension contributions of up to 5%.
