GBP28,441 - GBP33,460 per annum (subject to experience)
Our purpose is to protect the public by regulating dental professionals in the UK. All dentists, dental nurses, dental technicians, clinical dental technicians, dental hygienists, dental therapists and orthodontic therapists must be registered with us to work in the UK. The support and experience of our dedicated and highly focused teams is invaluable. This is your chance to build on your own skills and experience and make a worthwhile contribution to our work.
About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for two EAs within our Governance Team. The successful candidates will provide a high level of professional secretarial and administrative support to members of the GDC's Executive Management Team. They will be the first point of contact for, and respond to, internal and external enquiries. They will assess priorities and take the appropriate action to contribute to the effective management of individual Director's diaries and provide administrative support as required. They will understand Directors' ways of working, and provide flexible support to meet individual needs and requirements.
The role requires proven and effective administrative and diary management skills with experience of working in a similar role to a senior executive, head or equivalent. Proven experience of running a busy office with the ability to prioritise work, manage time effectively and cope with changing priorities and multiple demands is also needed to carry out the duties effectively. You will also be able to demonstrate experience of handling and effectively managing sensitive and confidential correspondence.
You will be used to arranging and taking responsibility for the preparation of meetings and small events. You will have a proven ability to work on own initiative and make decisions where appropriate on behalf of a senior executive. Your strong ICT skills will allow to use case management systems (adapting to our in-house systems as necessary) and Microsoft Office products.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of liaising at all levels including senior internal and external contacts. You will also have experience of setting up and maintaining office systems and a proven ability to work as part of a team.
The GDC is committed to equality and diversity. We encourage and support the recruitment, retention and career development of people from as wide a range as possible of ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds.
To reward you for your hard work and commitment, we offer an attractive benefits package that includes a generous pension scheme, flexi-time and 25 days' annual leave (not inclusive of bank holidays), rising to 28 days after 5 years' service.
