The Role:

Robert Half Finance & Accountancy are pleased to be supporting our client, a PE backed high growth leisure business, on the recruitment of an exciting newly created Financial Controller position. Our client are relocating to Borehamwood and are recruiting this newly created position which is ideal for an a fully qualified candidate who is looking for their first FC level role or a candidate with between 1 - 4 years FC level experience. This opportunity offers exposure to the PE and bank funding environment, the challenges of a high growth business who have significant expansion plans and there is the potential to join an employee share option scheme. The Financial Controller will be responsible for:

-Ownership for internal reporting, including month end accounts

-Reviewing and updating company forecasts and budgets

-Preparation of year end accounts, audit schedules and audit management

-Accurate and timely bank covenant reporting

-Manage all company's compliance, including corporation tax, sales taxes, duty and payroll taxes

-Ensure that a strong internal control environment exists across the company, seeking continuous improvements in productivity and accuracy

-Maintain and improve accounting and reporting systems, ensuring they are developed and utilised to their full potential

-Management of a small finance team

-Any ad hoc duties and tasks as required by the Finance Director

Your Profile:

We are looking for a fully qualifed (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) candidate who is currently a senior management accountant or similar or someone who has 1 - 4 years Finance Manager/Financial Controller experience ideally in an SME environment. You will need to be technically strong and with strong analysical skills as you will be responsible for all of the day to day financials, month end, analysis of retail trading performance, management reporting as well as dealing with VAT, statutory accounts and managing staff. You will need to be hands on, adaptable and able to work in a fast paced & dynamic environment.

Our client are offering a highly competitive base salary of GBP50,000 to GBP60,000, up to 20% bonus, 25 day holiday, pension and the potential to join an employee share options scheme.
