We are looking for someone who is able to encourage students to become effective independent learners and to help them achieve their academic goals.

The role would require you to support student's on a one to one basis. In return, we will provide you with flexible working hours and the opportunity to develop your skills in academic support and student care.

We are looking for Specialist Mentors who are interested in helping students suffering with Autistic Spectrum Disorders or mental health issues.

Responsibilities:

* To provide one-to-one support around the Scunthorpe area to students with disabilities, mental health conditions or ASDs.
* To work with students to develop their coping skills to enable them to deal with anxiety, stress, and concentration difficulties, times management, practising workload and creating a healthy work-life balance.
* To understand professional boundaries and to not act as a counsellor or mental health advocate.
* To effectively manage your own caseload and booking of appointments.
* To report student attendance daily via the Opus system.

Requirements:

Full or associate membership of one of the below bodies;

* Association of Child Psychotherapists; BABCP accreditation;BACMP/MBACP membership;British Psychoanalytic Council;British Psychological Member (alongside a PG qualification in Psychology or Mental Health);COSCA accredited; FDAP (NACA);General Medical Council Psychiatry;Health and Care Professions Council;IACP membership; Nursing and Midwifery Council;Social Worker Body for Scotland or Wales;UKCP full clinical member; UMHAN member

Autism / Asperger's Qualifications of one of the below;

* All NAS core autism online training modules
* Holds a PG Certificate in Autism / PG Certificate in Aspergers
