Publications at the Royal College of Psychiatrists is changing and we are seeking an ambitious, dynamic and creative person to lead our editorial team and ensure that our academic journals thrive by advancing their reputation and reach in a rapidly changing environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the College's portfolio of books and journals, BJPsych, BJPsych Bulletin, Advances, International and Open, leading a team of three managing editors. They will manage the new partnership with Cambridge University Press who take over the production of the journals and books from the 2018 volume year. We are looking for a candidate with excellent experience of managing academic journals and partner relationships, who can demonstrate that they have the collaborative and negotiating skills to secure the best outcomes for the College and its publishing program over time. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have a strategic vision for the future development of the journals. Keeping up in a changing world is not enough, we need someone who shares and can deliver our ambition to compete with the best.
