Adult Services in West Berkshire has new opportunities for HCPC registered Social Workers to join our friendly and supportive East Locality team, based in the outskirts of Reading.
West Berkshire Council is using a new way of working which incorporates a strong focus on localities and on ensuring that we focus on the strengths of the people that we work with.
The teams are made up of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Social Care Practitioners who work collaboratively to manage the needs of adults in the community. We use a restorative practice approach to avoid building dependence on services. The work is very varied and involves working with adults with a wide range of needs and disabilities and this offers great opportunities for extending your knowledge and expertise.
You will need a working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act and Safeguarding procedures. At least two years post-qualifying experience is essential for these posts which are for full time (37 hrs) applicants. One post is for a fixed-term (until early 2019).
