An experienced Scrub Practitioner looking to progress their career is required by a private hospital in Southend on Sea, with an exciting opportunity available to train to become Surgical 1st Assist.

The hospital undertakes a range of surgical procedures including orthopaedics, spinal, urology, ENT, plastics and general surgery, and you will be able to develop your skills across a variety of surgical specialties with a strong support network in place.

The role will involve supporting the management and organisation of care in addition to supporting surgeons during surgery by retracting organs and tissues, using suction equipment, removing haemostats and assisting with the placement and cutting of sutures and ligatures.

Applicants for this role should meet the following criteria:

Qualified Adult Nurse/RGN with current NMC registration or qualified Theatre Practitioner/ODP with up to date HCPC registration
Extensive post-registration experience in a scrub setting
Have completed an Advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification
Trained and experienced using a range of medical devices and equipment
Willing to further develop your skills and progress professionally
Ideally have previous experience of supporting service and commercial development

The hospital is offering a Band 6 equivalent annual salary of up to GBP34,000 depending on experience, in addition to private medical cover, a company pension scheme and life assurance and a range of staff benefits.

Due to the nature of the role, you will receive extensive support to further develop your skills and progress to work as Surgical 1st Assist.
