We are looking for a RMN with an interest in working with Young People in a Special School Environment - with excellent facilities - You will have an interest in and the following

Education & Training

Registered on the NMC register for RN1, RN2, RN8,
Member of the NMC
Nursing Diploma or Nursing Degree
Teaching and Assessing qualification is desirable
First Aid qualification is desirable


Experience of working with children / young people with special education needs and high level support
Experience of working with ASD, PMLD and SLD
Working with multi-disciplinary team
Current evidence based practice
Experience at safe medicines management
Experience with PEG/NG is desirable
Tube Management is desirable

Skills, Knowledge and Ability

Good level of spoken and written English
Up to date clinical practice
Ability to supervise, train and teach staff.
Basic ICT skills (able to use a computer for handling data / report writing)
Demonstrate knowledge and ability to promote the dignity and individuality of children / young people and encourage independence and choice
Ability to prioritise
Positive interest and approach in working with children / young people who have learning disabilities and complex needs
Good interpersonal skills
Commitment to creating a therapeutic environment
Able to keep accurate records.
Ability to work on your own as well as part of a team
Able to recognise change, however small it may be, and respond to it
Knowledge of Safeguarding legislation.
Knowledge of the NMC code of Professional Conduct
