Applications are invited for the post of Education Consultant (Acting) on the BA (hons) in Acting Studies, a new four-year double degree programme delivered in conjunction with the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, China.

Students will undertake their first year at the Central Academy and then move to London to complete their second and third years at the Guildhall School before returning to Beijing for their final year.

The role holder will manage students on their cultural transition from Beijing to London and provide high level support to the programme team and advise on delivering a range of classes and rehearsals in both an academic and administrative capacity. In addition, working under the direction of the Programme Leader the role holder will act as an intellectual and artistic bridge to facilitate the progression from Year 1 to Years 2 and 3 of the programme and help ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students on the programme during their studies at the Guildhall School.

The role holder will have an ability to synthesise and elaborate the artistic, educational and cultural meeting points of both institutions methodologies and traditions to create a new and exciting programme.

The post requires the role holder to be fluent in both English and Mandarin and have extensive knowledge of theatre education in China gained from undertaking an appropriate qualification (i.e. Diploma) in China, as well as knowledge of theatre education in the UK gained from undertaking an appropriate qualification (i.e. Bachelors or Masters' degree). They should have the aptitude to work collaboratively as part of a team with exceptional communication and organisational skills. A proven capacity to motivate and inspire students to attain the highest levels of achievement will be required, alongside the ability to develop and sustain relationships with Guildhall School colleagues, clients and students.

The post is available as soon as possible, for a fixed-term of two years.
