The School of Social Sciences comprises of 3 dynamic subject areas; Criminology and Sociology, Psychology and Politics and International Relations as well as the Child and Woman Abuse Studies Unit (CWASU) and John Grieve Centre for Policing and Community Safety. The School's portfolio ranges from level 3 to level 8 programmes with many specialist courses accredited by professional bodies such as the College of Policing, Health and Care Professions Council and the British Psychological Society. There is great potential in the School to increase synergies and develop multidisciplinary teaching, CPD and research.
ABOUT THE POST
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced leader who will manage and develop the Criminology and Sociology portfolio, including Policing and Social Policy in the School of Social Sciences. The post holder will have an outstanding track record of managing change and collaborative working with staff and students, partners, professional bodies and external agencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic direction of the area through the development and delivery of high quality and sustainable provision working across the sector. The candidate will be educated to PhD or Masters levels and have a Postgraduate Certificate of Education/HEA membership,
