They are in a fortunate position to be adding a Specialist Spinal Nurse into their multi skilled team. The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you will be responsible for the provision of specialist services for patients undergoing spinal procedures both inpatients and outpatients. This post is ward based and therefore the expectation is that you will be part of the ward team and expected to care for other surgical patients alongside this role. Dedicated time will be given to support the development of this role, the reviewing of policies, implementing training and best practice.

• Provide specialist nurse services for patients undergoing Spinal procedures, both inpatients and outpatients.
• Liaise with the Theatre management team in the booking and organisation of surgical procedures.
• Support pre assessment in preoperative assessment of patients, assisting surgeons with preoperative preparation of patients for surgery, organising diagnostic tests.
• Set up a database which details the surgical treatment plan, clinical results, post-surgery treatment and to support in completing.
• Submit data to the British Spinal Registry
• Organise and attend MDT's and participate in presentations and conferences promoting hospital business as requested.
• Support nursing staff to develop their knowledge and skills in spinal surgeries and aftercare.
