LOCATION: Aldershot, Hampshire

JOB TITLE: Regional Employer Engagement Director

SALARY: GBP30,797 per annum

BENEFITS: 25 days paid leave annual leave (which can be enhanced to 30 days subject to qualifying service in HM Forces or other Government Departments), plus 9 additional privilege and public holidays. A laptop and mobile phone will be provided. In addition, the Association offers a Career Average Revalued Earnings pension scheme in line with Government directive.

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday 37 hours per week, with very occasional evening or weekend work.

THE COMPANY: Our client is an organisation that provides vital support to volunteer Reserves and Cadets around the UK through 13 autonomous Associations. These have some 8,000 volunteer members supported by professional staff allowing a local defence footprint. They provide both financial and logistic support as well as assistance and encouragement in recruiting both Cadets and Adult Instructors within the Army Cadet Force.

They are currently looking for a Regional Employer Engagement Director to join their team based in Aldershot, Hampshire.

THE ROLE: The successful candidate will be required to engage with businesses and organisations across the South East region. You will be responsible for promoting and delivering Partnering with Defence initiatives to employers to enable a fertile environment for the Armed Forces Community, (Reservists, Service Leavers, Adult Volunteers and Cadets) and supporting Reserve Units with strong Employer Support.

Key Responsibilities of the Regional Employer Engagement Director role to include:
  • Maintain relationships with existing employers
  • Establish and build relationships with new employers
  • Engage with commercial businesses across the South East region
  • Attend networking meetings and Armed Forces functions to promote partnership working.

THE CANDIDATE: The ideal Regional Employer Engagement Director will have previous experience of working within a similar role. You will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and presentational skills, knowledge of the Armed Forces is an advantage.

Essential skills/qualities for the Regional Employer Engagement Director role:
  • Able to commute to Aldershot, Hampshire
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Management and organisational experience gained within a commercial environment
  • Experience in networking
  • Experience of working to Key Performance Indicators
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel and practical experience of managing and operating a database
  • Account and/or sales management experience
  • Degree educated or at least 2 years' experience in a role with directly transferable skills.
