Excellent opportunity to join a leading provider of adoption services to support the Regional Adoption Agency / Volunteer Adoption Alliance across the Yorkshire Region

A leading national provider of fostering and adoption services have a fantastic opportunity for a strategic leader to join them at an executive level. The post holder will be key in implementing adoption policy and legislation to ensure that an effective adoption service is delivered across Yorkshire by up to 15 local authorities and 8 voluntary agencies.

The Yorkshire and Humber Region is a national leader in setting up three Regional Adoption Agencies. Your role will be key to ensure successful and efficient service delivery across the region. As the vanguard of regional adoption services, you will develop key skills and working networks with adoption professionals, paving the way for other national coalitions to follow suit.

This is a permanent and home based role, giving you the stability of an extended contract to include holidays and pensions. The home based nature of the role also gives you plenty of flexibility to schedule your own workload and work effectively according to your own style.

This is an exciting role that will be rolled out nationally should you be successful in delivering what is promised to local authorities, adoptive parents and birth families. This is more than just a role. The role offers you the opportunity to play a major role nationally in adoption. The charity is a huge contributor to social policy; as you are working at an executive level you will also be involved at a senior management level across their other services.

About you

The ideal applicant will have strong adoption knowledge tied with strong strategic leadership. The successful post holder will be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Change and Project Management Skills
  • Understanding of Local/ Regional/ National social policy
  • Be able to represent the charity at a national level
  • Leadership- line managing up to 8 direct reports
  • Managing the Marketing/Communication
  • Understanding and developing a Regional Adoption Support Fund approach
  • Commissioning/Contracting skills and experience
  • Systems/IT
  • Ability to review and analysis data/performance
  • Strategic thinking
  • Innovation/creativity
