Early Placement Programme, Coram Adoption Service
GBP35k - GBP40k pa, inclusive of London weighting
Based at Coram Campus, Bloomsbury, London WC1
Coram is one of the UK's leading voluntary adoption agencies. Our London Branch achieved 'outstanding' in all categories in our previous two adoption inspections. We have also achieved 'outstanding' for our concurrent planning foster- care service. We are known for our innovative and child-centred work in all aspects of adoption, including adoption support.
An opportunity exists for someone to work within Coram's Early Permanence programme. You will work to recruit and approve Early Permanence carers, including Foster for Adoption and Concurrent Planning carers. Coram takes a lead in promoting early permanence within London and nationally.
Coram Capital is the partnership between Coram's London Branch and four local authorities who all use Coram's services to family find for their children (LB Harrow, LB Redbridge, City of London and Thurrock Council). Coram recruits and approves adopters and early permanence placements for all the children referred by the Coram Capital LAs. We also have an adoption branch in the East Midlands and run a separate VAA (Coram Cambridgeshire) based in Cambridge.
Coram offers a rich menu of support services, including support groups for early permanence carers, a play and stay drop in for adopters of pre-school children, parenting skills groups for adopters of children and adolescents, creative therapy, mentalisation for adoptive families, and access to in-house consultation with a clinical psychologist.
You will be child-focused and keen to strive for excellence and promote early permanence with prospective carers and also with LA colleagues. We offer excellent supervision, training and development opportunities, and a pleasant and professional working environment.
If you are a skilled and experienced HCPC-registered social worker/senior practitioner, and committed to achieving excellent adoption and permanency outcomes, we would like to hear from you.
