Supported Housing Manager - Young People and Mental Health Services

Full-time - 38 hours per week


GBP32,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed Supported Housing Manager to lead and motivate our service teams to provide meaningful support that will make a real difference to the 36 people living in our Young Peoples (ages 16-24) and Mental Health (adults) services. About the role

  • You will work within the values and spirit of Outward to engage, enable and empower customers to achieve their goals and ambitions.
  • You will develop and motivate the deputy manager and staff team to be positive and enthusiastic about their work and to deliver high quality services.
  • You will lead the staff to develop support / move on plans and risk assessments that reflect people's needs, preferences and aspirations; creating a culture where plans are actively implemented and reviewed so that people are supported as they wish to be.
  • The services are staffed Monday-Sunday (and part of the young peoples' service is 24 hours), so you will work closely with the Deputy Manager to manage rota's effectively and minimise agency use, staying within budget.
  • You will be experienced in delivering effective housing management processes, to minimise void loss, re-let properties swiftly, support customers to manage their rent and other finances, keep their homes safe and in good repair.
  • You will deliver a service that meets and aims to exceed the expectations of the people we support, our commissioners / funders and local authority stakeholders.

About You

Using your experience of working in a similar setting you will have developed the skills you need to engage and motivate service teams to provide creative and flexible services that make a positive difference to people's lives.

As the Supported Housing Manager you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of a high quality support service for young people and adults with a range of needs, through making sure the service adheres to all the relevant legislative and performance standards.

You will demonstrate a caring approach, balancing compassion and empathy whilst supporting customers to adhere to house rules and be mindful of the needs of other residents.

You will be an excellent communicator who is well able to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach. You will also have good organisational, administrative and budget management skills.

You may be required to work some evenings, weekends and bank holidays to cover shifts if necessary. You will also be part of Outward's management out of hours' on-call service, for which additional payment will be made.
