We're looking for a client-focused individual with experience of providing housing advice to join us as an Advice, Support & Guidance Worker and help us help the residents of Sheffield who need our support.

Shelter Sheffield operates a thriving hub of services in the city centre where people can access a range of advice and support provision, including legal advice and representation, housing related support services and an Information and Resource facility. We specialise in housing.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Conducting face to face client interviews at Advice Centre, outreach sites and over the telephone in order to provide accurate Housing & Legal advice & advice in other related areas of law, providing a good standard of professional service and client care
  • Agree client's needs and identify desired outcomes/actions
  • Carry an active caseload
  • Write and implement case plans & letters confirming advice
  • Prepare for more complex advocacy including representation at court.

And what you'll need:

  • Recent experience of providing specialist level housing & legal advice
  • Proven relevant experience gained working with vulnerable people and/or people with multiple and complex needs within a safeguarding framework
  • Good typing skills and proficiency using case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
