We are looking for a Science Research & Strategy Lead to join our team to lead and deliver an incredibly ambitious programme of work.

As Science Research & Strategy Lead you will work closely with the head of Science Partnership and Engagement. This high profile role with involve regular meetings with the Permanent Secretary, project sponsor and communications with our Senior Civil Servants within DfT.

About you
You have significant experience of working with multiple stakeholders on a project or programme. You have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop presentations and submissions for decisions by others.

Role Responsibilities;
• Act as the main link between DfT, GO-Science and other Government departments in delivering the project
• Develop, refine and deliver the proposal for Transport Research and Innovation Board
• Liaise with DfT senior management (Director Generals and the Permanent Secretary), other government departments, UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) and other major research and supplier organisation
• Work with DfT's policy and strategy teams to develop a DfT R&D strategy. This will require analysis of existing research and innovation strategies, both internal and external, to identified opportunities for alignment
• Engaging with annual Evidence Research Summaries process and subsequent publication of the DfT Areas of Research Interest
• Assist in the exploration and potential development of international collaborations where this is shown to be beneficial
