It's about recognising talent, nurturing junior staff, and mentoring them to be the best nurses they can be, using clinical skills and an empathetic approach to meet each individual patient's need.Reporting to the Ward Manager you'll be part of a multidisciplinary team. You'll get to work with some of the best clinical talent around and experience with new practices, equipment and facilities, all of which are maintained to our high standards -we take great pride in our low infection rates and high CQC scores.Your key accountabilities will be to provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students of the department, with responsibilities including all or most of the following:Work scheduling/rotasInvolvement in recruitment, induction, performance review, attendance management, disciplinary and grievance mattersCompetency assessment, training, development and the mentoring of staffEnsure work is carried out efficiently and to agreed working practice and protocolsOur team is passionate, caring, independent and enterprising. As a work environment, our hospital is friendly and welcoming, with an accessible and approachable management team.Nursing qualifications, skills and valuesAs a nurse or practitioner registered with the appropriate governing body, you'll have the qualifications required for registration.A qualification in teaching and assessment is preferred, as is a professional management qualification, such as NVQ level 2 or 3.Immediate Life Support is preferred and Advanced Life Support is desirable.You'll have experience of multispeciality surgical procedures, plus further professional training, experience and, preferably, a qualification in a specialist area. You'll also have excellent clinical skills and experience of being in a mentoring role.You'll be an excellent communicator and team worker - flexible and motivated.
