Salary GBP42,000 gross per annum plus benefits

Are you interested in designing training for a youth development charity where you will help to change lives? If so, this could be the role for you.

Our role: We are currently looking for a dynamic leader in youth development. You will be the driving force behind designing impactful development opportunities for our 14,000 Sea Cadets across the UK. You will also develop the necessary training to effectively equip our 9,000 volunteers to be brilliant youth leaders providing our young people with life changing experiences.

This is an exciting and challenging role which will require you to lead all our work on developing our sea cadet and volunteer training across the whole charity. You will ensure we adopt an innovative approach based on best practice within the youth education sector.

You will lead, inspire and manage a small team of three development professionals. You will also have functional accountability for 20 volunteers who are subject matter experts to support you developing the training.

The Sea Cadet Experience is based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. We aim to give young people nationwide the best possible head start in life by building life skills to help provide a brighter future. What we're looking for: The successful candidate should have:

  • a strong track record of developing innovative training solutions for young people
  • a background in education and/or youth development
  • strategic leadership and people management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
