Rutland is one of the best places in the country to live, learn, work, play and visit. We may be the smallest Unitary Authority in England, but we can offer fantastic opportunities to make a real difference to the lives of the residents in our local community. This is your chance to become part of a great team, delivering great services throughout the County.
Are you looking for an opportunity that enables you to work more closely with those needing your support, and where your skills and experience can make a significant difference?
We are looking to strengthen our social care teams with experienced Social Workers across both adult and children's services.
Our Children's Social Care teams support families throughout Rutland, and those in placements across the country. From the Front Door in our Referral, Assessment and Intervention Service, though to child protection and court work in our Protection and Permanence team, our Social Workers handle cases independently, adapting and managing risks to tackle complex tasks. Your work will ensure that children, young people and families get the right support at the right time with interventions that support change. With a caseload small enough to enable you to deliver good social work practice, you will find an approachable management team providing regular oversight.
Our Adult Social Care teams are leading the way on health and social care integration, ensuring the services we deliver and commission meet the needs of the service users in a fully joined up way. Our services continue to evolve with increasing levels of personalisation, and are receiving national recognition along the way. Despite this, our Social Workers never lose sight of the service users who remain firmly at the heart of everything we do, with manageable caseloads that allow the multi-disciplinary team to really get to know those they are supporting and their families to ensure the right support is there at the right time. In our Prevention and Safeguarding team, this includes the triaging of referrals as part of a rapid response function, offering direct social work interventions and management of crisis situations as appropriate, as part of a complex caseload. This is a fixed term post for 3 years.
The successful applicant for these posts will be subject to an enhanced check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
We act as 'One Council' in all we do, with each of us working together in the most effective way to meet the needs of our customers every day - if you share this ethos then we very much want to hear from you.
