Here at West Sussex County Council we have a clear vision for our county which sets out what we want to achieve with our residents. We want to ensure residents, families and communities have the right support in place to enable them to confidently prepare for later life so they can live independently for as long as possible and remain economically active for longer.

We are investing in our Adults' Social Care Services to support our priorities and in keeping with our responsibilities under the Care Act (2014). We are also entering into an exciting period of Transformation, which will require staff to be flexible and willing to embrace new ways of working with customers. The successful candidate will work closely with partner organisations such as Health and third sector, ensuring customers are linked into their communities whilst maximising their assets.

To help us develop and grow our service, we are looking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals to these Social Work posts.

As a qualified Social worker, registered with HCPC, you will need strong interpersonal and organisational skills. You will need to travel independently across the county to meet with individuals and carers to assess needs, formulate outcomes and undertake reviews using a person-centred approach designed to provide meaningful choice and promote wellbeing. You must be able to work autonomously, prioritise your work and respond flexibly to competing demands.

An excellent working knowledge of legislation and current policies is required. Social workers in these teams are required to undertake various duties to include; assessments under the Care Act 2014, mental capacity assessments, reviews of funded care and safeguarding work.

If you think you have the right values for our organisation, you will be supported by a programme of continuous training and development including supervision and management support to help you fulfil the role. We also offer an attractive benefits package including a childcare voucher scheme, flexible working and Local Government Pension Scheme.
