EXPERIENCED ACCOUNTANT

Looking for an experienced accountant with at least 5 years' experience working in a group of companies structure.

Job Type: Contract

Salary: GBP35000 to GBP40000

Required education: Chartered Accountant

Qualifications: ACA, ACCA or FCCA.

Job Description

- Compile and analyses financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Chartered Accountants standards.
- Make sure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Reconcile and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities, carry out bookkeeping duties.
- Prepare financial management report ensure these are accurate and done timely on a monthly, quarterly and at year-end close.
- Continuous management and support of budget and weekly forecast activities with others.
- Make sure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses are done.
- Analyses and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
- Develop systems with to make sure financial information efficient use and resources and procedures and quick and effective, provide strategic recommendations and maintain current systems of the business.
- Organize and manage others in the finance team, be disciplined and be have accountability.

Your role will include:
- Being a key member of the SMT
- Involvement in future business acquisitions
- Various balance sheet reconciliations - including accruals and prepayments
- Maintenance of fixed asset register
- Quarterly VAT returns
- Processing bank payments
- Handling purchase ledger queries
- Processing expenses forms, credit card payments and fuel cards
- Maintaining HP leases
- Completing ad hoc government returns
- Providing cover for other team members as required
