The next stage of their growth means building on their previous successes, as well as bringing new ideas and specialist skills on-board. Nowhere more so than in the HR sphere. They are looking for a commercially driven L&D professional to start a new specialist L&D function for the business; building on previous initiatives and professionalising the L&D offering to help the business achieve its goals.

The first stage of this role will be to work with the business leaders and HR Business Partners to understand their commercial objectives and to identify the appropriate L&D interventions required to achieve them. The L&D Manager will then need to design and deliver (both themselves, and by partnering with external providers as necessary) an appropriate suite of hard and soft skill interventions to achieve these goals. Completely new areas to explore are as diverse as the building of an internal leadership academy, through to the design and delivery of a graduate development program.

This role will definitely require someone with creative flair and a commercial outlook, who can work with the business to design and deliver the most appropriate tools to achieve their commercial goals. You should be able to illustrate a successful, relevant track record in L&D, from needs analysis, through to design, delivery and supplier & budgetary management - right through from graduate programs, to hypo and leadership development programs. You should be able to demonstrate how you have influenced both line mangers and executive leaders, whilst working collaboratively with the wider members of the HR team (both BPs and Centres of Expertise). You should have gained this experience within a financial services environment and ideally have exposure both to large corporate and smaller/mid-size entrepreneurial environments, in order to bring to bear a full set of relevant skills and experiences.
