A Special School in Carmarthenshire has asked Broad Education Staffing to find a suitably qualified and experienced teacher of children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, preferably with Primary age group/curriculum experience.

The role is required to begin between September and October 2017, and applications are being accepted now to manage registration and safeguarding clearances prior to starting. The duration is, initially at least, for a trial period of approximately 1 school term, until Christmas 2017. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to then accept further work with children of primary ages for an much longer, extended period of time Candidates with specific experience of the daily use of programmes and principles such as TEACCH and PECS are particularly invited to apply.

The school have specialist support staff in every class, so the ability to liaise with talented and experienced Teaching Assistants to fully optimise the learning of all pupils will be key. Candidates with experience and specific training related to teaching pupils with Autistic Spectrum Conditions will also be prioritised.

In order to comply with Broad Education Staffing's strict adherence to Safer Recruitment legislation, the role requires EWC registration as a teacher, teaching references and an enhanced DBS disclosure. As such, the successful candidate will already have (or be prepared to apply very soon for) a suitable disclosure, registered with the DBS update service.
