The role of Management Accountant:

  • Cost centre and credit card reconciliations, including some journals to assist with month-end closure
  • AMEX cards/travel management: reconciliation of credit card statements to ledger submissions and payments, ownership of AMEX Travel system administration including new staff training as required, contact with procurement staff and budget holders to finalize system controls implementation
  • Staff expense claim management: includes training new staff on correct systems use, reviewing staff claims for inaccuracies, and processing reimbursement payments and journals
  • Intercompany invoicing and managing recharges, including contact with counterparties to resolve invoice queries
  • Petty cash management: includes monthly counts, reconciliation, and processing payment journals
  • VAT returns: assisting offshore support with quarterly transactional reports, to ensure full VAT compliance across all the DAN UKHO entities as required
  • Assisting with daily AP/AR queries, including supplier invoices/statements, and facilitating ad-hoc requests where necessary
  • Ad hoc other tasks as directed by the Senior Management Accountant or Financial Controller

Additional activities that will be added if the candidate is deemed capable:

  • Facilitating the transition of the above AMEX, staff expense, intercompany, and VAT return responsibilities over to our offshore support centre (based in Bangalore, India)
  • Business partnering with Corporate Functions staff to assist Senior Management Accountant with delivering monthly results to budget holders, providing detailed analysis or corrections where necessary
  • Assisting the Senior Management Accountant/Financial Controller with month-end tasks, to facilitate period close within a 4 working day cycle
  • Assisting the Senior Management Accountant/Financial Controller with periodic forecasting and annual budgeting preparation for the London-based global corporate functions (annual cost budget of approx. GBP55m)

What we're looking for:

  • Media industry experience is preferred, but not essential
  • Pre or part-qualified
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to take initiative and drive your own success


  • GBP28-32k basic salary
  • Potential contract extension
