History Teacher job in Cardiff. Full time position confirmed until Christmas.Teaching KS3 and KS4 classes.
Your new school
This school is an 11-18, mixed comprehensive school located in the immediate Cardiff area. In a recent Estyn report the school was praised for its consistent high quality of teaching. The school has a record breaking 92% of students achieving Level 2+ with 100% of students achieving at least 5 GCSES. The school has over 1600 students, with teachers working closely with the welsh government to deliver a large variety of extra-curricular activities. The school is currently recruiting for a History teacher to cover three months of planned absence in the KS3 and KS4 classes.
Your new role
Starting in September you will be a key part of the dedicated History department responsible for teaching a timetable of KS3 and KS4 History lessons to a variety of students of different learning abilities. This job is a full-time position starting on Monday 4th of September. Your role will include full teaching responsibilities including staff meetings, parents evenings, pastoral responsibilities, planning and preparation of lessons along with marking and assessment.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified teacher registered with the Education Workforce Council. You will have previous experience in delivering History lessons within a secondary school. You will have a passion for development and a track record in helping pupils to achieve strong results. You will have a strong classroom presence with good behavioural and classroom management skills. You will share a commitment to safeguarding and will hold a DBS check or be happy to have one put into process.
