Our Client is seeking a Service Manager for their service in Tipton you must be a Registered Nurse Mental Health/ Learning Disabilities (RMN/ RNLD)

The Service is accommodates 16 residents living with Learning Disabilities and/or Mental Health Conditions and is seeking a Service Manager.

OVERVIEW OF THE POST

The Service Manager is responsible for the management of the Service in accordance with the policy and guidelines and laid down by the client.

This will include the management of all care staff, efficient and effective day to day running and further development of the Service in line with the company needs and the requirements of the company. The main aim will be to ensure the Service Users well being by promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment within a policy of managed risk taking.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

To lead, direct, supervise and support staff working within the Service in providing a network of services which can respond flexibility to the needs of the service users as individuals.
To ensure budgetary control of the Service is maintained in accordance with their guidelines.
To contribute to the formulation of a business plan for the purpose of planning and implementation of any new development as identified for the promotion of services for agreement by The Board.
Overall responsibility for management of the Service in efficient and effective manner within available resources and controlled annual budgets agreed by the finance team under the supervision of the Finance Controller.
Proactively chasing arrears to ensure all fees are paid within the agreed time frame.
Take referrals and carry out assessments of prospective Service Users in a timely fashion in line with the company's guidelines.
To develop and maintain pro-active working relationships with the regulators, service commissioners and members of the public.
To ensure compliance with Regulations and guidelines.
To ensure statutory reports are submitted within the required timescales.
Appoint staff at all levels below that of Service Manager which will include conducting interviews and performing risk assessments if applicable.
To provide information and supervision to staff as appropriate ensuring they are conversant with their duties, rights, and responsibilities. To ensure the staff demonstrate the values in the way that they work on a daily basis and that they make the difference count.
To promote good communication by means of staff meeting, written and verbal reports and
encourage openness at all levels.

To respect the confidences of the Service Users, except where to do so would result in harm to a Service User, damage to the organisation or result in a criminal offence being committed.
The monitor staff studies and performance. Ensure probationary periods are managed appropriately. Deal with informal disciplinary matters and action formal disciplinary procedure through the appropriate channels.
Involve Service Users where possible in decision making about activity, lifestyle and matters in the Service which may affect them. Support relatives and carers.
To ensure all visitors to the site have the appropriate authorisation and supervision.
Publicise the Service offered by the company, establish and maintain good relations with the community including development of 'Friends' groups. Encourage and participate in social activities for the benefit of the Service Users, including fund raising.
To establish and participate in an effective on-call rota.
Deal with matters pertaining to the maintenance of the building and equipment and report any issues to the Maintenance Operative.
Oversee the implementation of systems of working which enable Health & Safety legislative requirements to be met for example, risk assessments, fire records, COSHH files etc.
Ensure mandatory training requirements and training directed by The Board are met within the Service and that clear, up to date individual training records are kept on every member of staff.
To instigate a regular programme of audits in clinical and non-clinical areas.
CLINICAL

To ensure that appropriate interventions are planned for patients in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
Ensure the emotional, spiritual, physical, medical and material needs of the Service User are recognised, assessed, and met where possible. This will involve ensuring there are regular planned reviews, assessments, and formulation of care plans for all users of the services in liaison with other professional workers.
To ensure a high standard of nursing care in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatment, in accordance with the best practice and the NMC code of conduct.
To ensure the implementation of agreed care plans, treatment plans, and risk assessments in liaisons with the MDT.
In addition to the above, there are some general requirements that apply to all jobs within the Service;

Take responsibility for the safeguarding of adults and follow company whistle blowing policy as required.
Participation in staff meetings.
Participation in training activities.
Participation in staff supervision and personal development review.
Participation in quality assurance systems.
Ensure all the company policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Taking responsibility for personal development by keeping abreast of developments in the field of caring for Service Users with mental health and learning disabilities.
All duties must be carried out to comply with:
Notification of accidents and other Health and Safety requirements
Statutory legislation, in particular the Health and Hygiene regulations.
Nationally and locally agreed Codes of Good Practice.
Fire precautions.

The above list of duties is not exhaustive and may be modified from time to time by your line manager in accordance with the development of the service and the employee.

Pay Conditions: GBP40,000 per year
