Hackney Council is looking for an Estate Officer to join the Clapton team. you will gain a huge amount of experience across the housing sector.

We manage over 30,000 properties on behalf of Hackney Council.

Your role will be to help us to provide excellent services for the residents of Hackney.

You will be working in partnership across multiple departments and develop astute political awareness.

Day to day you will be delivering tenancy and estate management services to our residents.

You will be working in a team of six managing a patch of 700+ properties. Your role will be to reach our key performance indicators, conduct tenancy audits and home checks as well as carry out fire risk assessments within your patch.

From time to time you will help with inspections of properties to support the repairs team or for insurance purposes.

While in the office you will spend time drafting correspondence and responding to enquiries.

You will be liaising directly with the Mayor's office, local MPs and community groups. You will also be actively involved in helping enhance Tenants Residents Association Meetings and will need to take time to follow up on agreed actions and provide feedback to the TRAs on outcomes and resolutions.

Your experience gained working in a similar role and broad understanding of housing issues and management is what we are looking for. Organised and used to working within a target driven environment, you will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal and be confident working with stakeholders at all levels.

The job share working hours are Wednesday lunchtime, Thursday and Friday which equates to 18 hours.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post
