The Role:

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, this role is a key business partner to the Financial Services Leadership Team with responsibility for all aspects of financial management including KPI and financial performance reporting, improving operational performance, and the financial control environment. The Finance Manager will play a key role in advising and supporting the Financial Services leadership team as we continue to grow our already successful financial services business.

Alongside supporting the production of monthly management accounts the right person for this role will enjoy interpreting and managing commercial and financial data and be comfortable providing insight and solutions that can directly influence senior commercial decisions within our business.

What youll be responsible for:

- Responsible for the full month end process including: the completion and creation of management accounts; validation and calculations of accruals and prepayments; posting of journals; balance sheet reconciliations and presentation of management accounts
- Financial reporting and forecasting, providing quality financial analysis and insightful commentaries and recommendations to the business
- Preparation of detailed budgets and forecasts for the division
- Supporting the subject matter expert for the IAS39 impairment model, liaising with the credit risk team to understand the key drivers behind the model and how operational performance influences our impairment charge
- Ensuring all stakeholders understand their responsibilities for the overall financial goals of their Division and the business, embedding commercial mind-set and governance
- Ad hoc analysis and provision of financial advice as required to support Finance Team, decision-making and monitoring of financial performance
- Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager by championing change management; driving improvements to financial accountability across the Division and developing and standardising financial processes to improve overall efficiency
- Focus on KPI delivery and reporting with a strong emphasis on customer service

What you will need to succeed:

- Formal finance qualification: CIMA/ACA/ACCA
- Technically astute and an appreciation of applicable financial reporting standards is critical
- Experience of working in the Financial Services sector is preferable
- Strong technology skills. Knowledge of SQL would be an advantage.
- Being close to the detail, data driven and analytical whilst also being able to articulate results clearly to non-finance individuals
- Strong operational delivery track record, motivated to implement/deliver on time to quality standards and build new efficient processes
- Demonstrated ability to quickly appraise complex situations, identify key issues and make tough, timely decisions
- Highly energetic and driven to succeed
- Excellent interpersonal relationships and ability to manage complex stakeholder relationship.
- Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organisation and experienced in communicating commercial language with a variety of media
- Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand a broad range of commercial issues
- A strong team player
