In-house Legal Associate / Construction Lawyer / 2yrs PQE / Construction & development - London

Circa GBP80k (experience & qualifications dependent) + 50% bonus incentive + 10% pension contribution, 25 days holiday, Private Health and more

Our client is a successful global property development & construction organization, investing in projects across London and looking to recruit an in-house Legal Associate / Construction Lawyer to assist with all contracts, compliance work and provision of general legal advice

Based in our London offices this role will present the right ambitious individual with the opportunity to make their mark and develop with the Business whilst working closely with our experienced construction legal team in Malaysia

Responsibilities include;

  • Act as general in-house legal support on all legal matters and ensure there are accurate and compliant contracts in place to comply with relevant regulatory and legal requirements
  • Advise the company on legal / compliance issues relating to business operations, specifically across a portfolio of mixed use property developments in the UK
  • Work closely with our construction legal team in Kuala Lumpa, Malaysia
  • Work across a range of other in-house legal matters, which will include corporate, compliance, finance, and employment matters
  • Contribute to governance policies and regularly monitor compliance
  • Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and alert and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues
  • Manage legal disputes and litigation; Assist with coordination of insurance cover
  • Update the Group periodically on progress of major contracts, material litigation and use of intellectual property and domain names

In-house Legal Associate / Construction Lawyer profile;

  • Law Degree or equivalent and min 2yrs PQE as Legal Associate for a Property Development organisation or private practice, preferably in construction / Real Estate
  • Experience of Residential, Commercial and Construction Transactions
  • Experience drafting and negotiating agreements including Development agreements, Rights of light deeds, Infrastructure agreements, Easements & Wayleaves, renewal of environmental licences and permits etc
  • Strong commercial judgement and approach to work
  • Pragmatic & proactive in approach whilst delivering excellent legal advice
