Financial Reporting Manager - FTSE 250 equivalent Private Equity

My client is a market leading Private Equity backed International Infrastructure leasing business. They have been growing exponentially over the past four years and have established themselves as a market leader in their chosen Operating Countries. This role is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with many exciting Programmes in flight which is well regarded as they have a fantastic business model, staff and investors.

Overall responsibilities of the Financial Reporting Manager:
  • The Shared Service centre (CBO) in the client London HQ require a focused and dynamic Financial Reporting Manager to manage a team of 3 accountants and 2 analysts in providing a best in class service to our 4 Operating Companies in Africa. This involves a hands on approach to solving technical and operational accounting queries on a daily basis as well as ensuring processes and procedures are continuously operating in the most efficient manner.
  • Reporting to the head of the Shared Service Centre (CBO)
Main deliverables of the Reporting Manager:
  • Monthly management reporting for 4 Operating Companies (OpCos) consisting of a Management Pack containing Financial Statements and Financial & Non-Financial KPI's
  • Monthly Commentary and explanations on trends in the performance
  • Review of Balance Sheet Reconciliation for Reporting (120 Accounts)
  • Operational reporting (eg. individual tower P&L analysis split by region/tower type/customer etc)
  • Collection of team performance for KPI reporting against SLA's
  • Month-end close of all ledgers
  • Monthly multi ledger reconciliation for 2 Op-Co's - local GAAP to IFRS.
  • Continuous analysis and improvement to processes
  • Management of a team of 5.

Experience of the Reporting Manager:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Previous big 4 experience advantageous / Audit background
  • Exposure to analysing large volume data sets, ideally in the Financial Services industry.
  • Demonstrable competence in analysing processes and implementing improvements to increase the quality of the work and reduce the risk around the process, specifically in relation to Balance Sheet Control and Reconciliation of Accounts.
  • Experience using a financial reporting consolidation system eg. Cognos, Hyperion
  • Experience using SAP advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate well with our operating company staff in Africa. Shared language (e.g.. French) is useful but not essential
