Our client, a successful group of companies providing innovative, high quality signage and manufacturing of clothing for the event / sporting industry, is seeking a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join their team on a part time basis of 25 hours per week.

As a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant, the successful candidate will take responsibility for all aspects of the company's day-to-day financial accounting including payroll, working with the Company's existing Finance Manager to ensure accurate, reliable and timely input for preparation of Management Information.

The role includes but is not limited to:

Banking:

Posting daily bank transactions and bank reconciliations
Cash-flow forecasting
Petty Cash

Monthly closing:

Assisting in the preparation of month end accounts
Addressing internal and external finance queries
Assisting with end of financial year

Accounts Receivable:

Prepare invoices for customers
Enter invoices in accounting software
Enter customer receipts
Resolve customer queries/Credit Control

Accounts Payable:

Processing supplier invoices
Addressing supplier's queries & updating supplier details
Prepare the payment run for suppliers

Payroll:

Administer the Company's monthly payroll and all associated tax and benefits tasks
Reimburse Employee

Expenses Pensions:

Responsibility for payments to the company NEST pension scheme

VAT:

Prepare and submit the Company's quarterly VAT returns

Personal Specification

To be successful in this role you will need to be confident that you have the necessary understanding and experience of the finance function in a small business and in your ability to work on your own initiative. A flexible approach and sense of humour also helps. Good communication skills are a must, at all levels both internally and externally. You will also be a competent user of Computerised Accounting Software, Excel, Word and Outlook and be willing to be trained on our client's bespoke order systems.

Your own transport and the ability to drive is essential due to the Company's rural location.

Experience Suggested

A highly competent Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator with meticulous attention to detail.
Accountancy qualification or qualified by experience.
Experience in processing Payroll, HMRC requirements around payroll and VAT Returns.
Competent user of Excel, Word & Outlook as well as Computerised Accounts. There will be the opportunity to have input into the choice of a new Accounts package.

There may be the capacity for this role to become full-time and also encompass the Management Accounting function in the future
