My client are a leading analytical testing company for the pharmaceutical industry and due to an exciting period of growth they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team, with the intention of developing this person into the next Commercial Director.
This role leads the company's sales and primarily you will be building a new pipeline of new clients and sales on a global scale.
You will drive forward strategic growth, through an in-depth understanding of the Life Science industry and markets- UK and Internationally. The areas of focus are Generics, Specials, Biotech, Raw material, Manufactures, new pharma- NPD and stability.
You would be able to operate in a fast moving consumer goods environment, operating comfortably at all levels of the business, both internally and externally.

Role Responsibilities;
- Drive divisional sales growth across the product portfolio in targeted competitor accounts as agreed with the Sales Manager.
- Primary responsibility will be to drive new business sales.
- Lead the implementation plan for the acquired target accounts and co- ordinate the activities across the organisation.
- Continually developing a pipeline of potential target accounts.
- Promote the company brand at different external networking events.
- Maintain up to date market and industry knowledge.
- Formulate a sales plan to develop lead generation activities.
- Manage the entire sales process from lead to closure.
- Providing accurate and timely sales forecasting on a monthly basis.
- Providing other reports and KPI as agreed.
- Providing support for marketing events, conferences.
- Travel, both domestic and international.
- Be aligned with the same goals of the company and company values.
- Ability to analyse marketplace in order to ensure focus on and acquisition of new business.
- Networking- proactive in business; expanding network continually; comfortable in meeting new people and stimulating conversations.
- Deliver the sales target, through the development and pro-active management of a strong deal pipeline.
- Contribute towards setting a budget and able to reforecast.
- Be collaborative and able to generate a high level of sustained individual activity.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines while managing key stakeholders expectations.

Ideal Candidate;
- Strong sales experience with proven track record.
- Experience of managing clients and also proven track record of creating new sales pipeline.
- Strong relationship building and negotiation skills in order to build effective relationships.
- Educated to degree (or equivalent) standard in a science or related discipline.
- Knowledge and experience of; sales budgets, data tracking and analysis, regulation updates and influence this would have on company.
- Experienced in a fast paced, high growth environment.
- Produce effective reports to be distributed both internally/ externally
