Salary: GBP20,000 - GBP21,500 (dependent on experience) + benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am to 5.30pm. 37.5 hours per week

The firm:
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a leading housing charity. My client helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through advice, support and legal services. Through their campaigns they hope to make sure that one day, no one will have to turn to us for help.

The team:
You would be joining a small, friendly team consisting of an Operations Manager, a Team Leader and Senior advisor in the Sheffield office.

The role:
The focus of the role will be to help people experiencing debt at any level, particularly where this affects their housing status and / or they are suffering from fuel poverty'. It is expected that the post holder will work with clients to ensure that they remain debt free and are able to pay for their ongoing energy consumption in the future. Expected interventions may include assisting clients with debt resolution plans, budgeting, energy efficiency advice, and grant applications.

Post holders will also be required to work towards obtaining authority to apply for Debt Relief Orders.

The post holder will work closely with other staff but will form part of a national team receiving remote supervision and support from the Team Leader.

The role of the Adviser is to deliver a flexible Debt and Housing advice service. This include, but not exclusive to;
*Prevention: supply information and where appropriate advice on how not to accrue energy debt, based on good money management principles and approaches to energy efficiency.
*Emerging Energy Debt: Ensure Energy Debt is addressed as part of a wider Debt Management plan.
*Crisis Energy Debt: ensure that clients can benefit from an integrated approach to addressing their debts, which could include grant applications and any of the other specific interventions and techniques available.
*Fuel Poverty: Look at strategies for people to maximise incomes to help remove the risk of fuel poverty.
*Debt Resolution Plans for an agreed number of clients per Adviser per annum.
*More intensive support to help clients with the greatest need access grants.

The person:
The successful candidate MUST have past experience of debt advise/collections.
They must be empathetic with impeccable customer service.
