Job Title: Female* Community Development Worker (Harmful Cultural Practices)

Post No SDAS36

Working hours: 22.5 per week worked as 3 full days 9.30 - 5.30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Salary: GBP23,460 pro rata (GBP14,266.22 for 22.5 hours)
Fixed Term Contract until 31st March 2020

The post is based in the office in Havant and delivers community based work, support and interventions in Havant, Fareham, Gosport, East Hampshire and Portsmouth local communities.

The post holder will proactively engage with diaspora communities affected by harmful cultural practices including honour based violence, forced marriage and FGM/C, and provide community based support for adults who have had harmful cultural practices performed on them or who may/whose children may be at risk. They will also increase knowledge of harmful cultural practices through delivering training to professionals and community groups.

The post-holder will need to attend meetings and events across Hampshire, therefore a full, clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement.
