Head of Higher Education and International

37 hours per week

York College is one of the major providers of education and training in Yorkshire and Humberside for 16-18 year olds, adults and apprentices.

Higher Education is an important part of our work, and we have recently achieved Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework. We have approximately 600 HE students and an ambition to increase these numbers. We also work with a number of international partners and we have exciting international developments planned for higher levels of training with our Chinese partners.

York College is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and appropriately experienced manager to oversee the quality and development of our HE and international work.

A focus on the continuous improvement of the quality of the student experience is essential, together with the ability to take forward developmental work and the close management of international partnerships. This role will take a lead on bidding activity with a particular emphasis on growth and innovative curriculum development.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of successful delivery and development of a range of HE programmes, resulting in above average student satisfaction, retention and achievement. They will be an experienced manager with the ability to lead effective liaison with a range of partners and external bodies, and will possess a strong understanding of developments and opportunities in both Higher Education and the international market.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure check.
