Education Welfare Officer
Search Consultancy is working with an authority in the Cheshire area to source an Education Welfare Officer on a temporary/term-time basis.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that children and young people are fully engaged in education and learning in educational establishments across the borough. You will enable families to access tailored support from the wider Integrated Early support service. You will advise and support school staff with strategies for improved attendance, punctuality and behaviour.
You will have a working knowledge of relevant legislation to the function of Education Welfare and be able to offer professional expertise related to education welfare business, supporting schools including carrying out annual Register inspections to develop and enhance attendance policies and effective practices aimed at improving school attendance.
You will provide bespoke advice to schools on their management of child protection cases, complex level three cases and support schools to be compliant with LSCB guidance and child protection procedures.
You will lead, coordinate and/or participate in multi-agency team around the family assessments or specialist assessment for children who require the support of education welfare and liaise closely with the schools, wider IES team and other agencies.
Subject to a DBS disclosure, Search Consultancy will meet the cost if you do not currently have one in place registered with the update service.
