Head of Infrastructure and Production
We are looking for a Head of Infrastructure and Production to join our IS department. This is an exciting prospect for a professional seeking to add value to a company undergoing a sustained period of growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Infrastructure and production of all countries working on the OMEGA Suite (in-house system), the Head of department will also manage two distinct teams. The countries currently hosted are UK, Slovenia, Morocco, and Ireland. Benelux, Switzerland and Austria commence in 2018. The infrastructure team manages and maintains the virtualised (VMWare) environment and the hardware it is hosted on. Responsible for all networking, security and DR. The production team maintain the job batches of OMEGA suite via Autosys, including out of hours support. Additionally this team contains the DBA role - responsible for the databases that the systems utilise (Sybase and SQL Server). Key tasks and responsibilities: - The successful candidate will be owner of the infrastructure architecture, apply up to date approaches, managing and maintaining budgets. - Motivate and empower the team members to successfully achieve their objectives - Monitoring, measuring, analysis and management of events, incidents and problems. - Ensure that appropriate design and planning takes place. - Data analysis to detect emerging trends and underlying service issues, make recommendations and create documented response to issues. - Administration of Linux, Databases and autosys job scheduler. - Perform single point of failure analysis, critical failure impact analysis and infrastructure risk analysis. - Production support, development support and project work. - Follow job treatments, and escalate and resolve any ongoing issues. - Work closely with the Dev and OP teams to meet their needs. - Build a patching strategy for the entire estate. - Ensure a robust backup solution covers all DR and Business continuity needs. - Full documentation of the solutions. - Build the correct approach for managing call requests logged with the teams. Experience: - At least 5 years' experience working within a senior management role - Knowledge of VMware (VCP highly desirable) and vSphere - Knowledge of Microsoft technologies - Knowledge of LINUX technologies - Exposure of VeeAM backup and replication software - Experience of network monitoring and management tools - Exposure to common networking technologies - switching, Routers, Firewalls, mpls, vpn. - Understanding of DR/BCP business processes - Maintaining a high availability production team - Experience of large scale infrastructure projects We are looking for: - Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills - Highly motivated to succeed and deliver on commitments - A genuine passion and interest in learning new skills - Hard working and focused - Driven to provide customer satisfaction - Comfortable liaising with business users as well as technical teams - Good verbal and written communication - Experience within the finance and/or motor finance industry is an advantage To apply please click the APPLY button.
