Fantastic opportunity for an Investment Manager to be based at my client's office in Launceston. This role is to run the Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund, which is a social impact investment fund focus in the South West. Reporting to the Investment Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for originating and executing investments from the fund, as well as further developing its strategy and building its profile across the region. My client will consider both full-time and part-time candidates.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• To assist with ongoing management of the fund generating deal flow, to present to investment committees and to negotiate, execute and monitor/manage investments made.
• To lead on deal creation
• To identify executive gaps in potential portfolio organisations
• To report to the Investment Director and relevant stakeholders on performance of the funds
• To undertake financial modelling to support the above activities
• To assist with full legal compliance, in terms of structures and processes
• To assist with reporting to the board
• Stakeholder management; to participate in meetings, conferences and events
• To support the business in articulating the learning from the fund
• To contribute to the overall growth and expansion of the business
Key strengths, essential experience and skills required include:
• Strong experience in investment including deal structuring, executing and ongoing management
• The ability to process and breakdown investment proposals
• The ability to understand, interpret and advise on business and financial strategy
• Commercial acumen and the ability to creatively source investment opportunities suitable for funds criteria
• Strong financial modelling skills
• Knowledge and understanding of the FCA, and the role of other financial service regulators
• The ability to become an FCA CF30 approved person
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional influencing and interpersonal skills
• A solutions finder, a team player, resilient, strategic and strong on execution
• Experience in social investment and/or social enterprise is desirable
• A willingness to travel within the UK and working with colleagues in multiple locations
• The enthusiasm to work in an entrepreneurial and innovative environment

The Investment Manager will play a key role in the delivery of the Health & Wellbeing Challenge Fund, and its growing prominence in the sector. The ideal candidate will therefore have relevant experience to be able to demonstrate the above skills and experience.
