An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for a newly created Academic Director post in the Department of Allied Health Professions. Managed by the Head of Department (HoD), you will have Departmental and Faculty wide accountabilities for a range of discrete responsibilities, particularly focused on enhancing the student journey and on staff development.

The AHP Department is increasing rapidly in size as it seeks to work with clinical partners to develop programmes to address shortages in the healthcare workforce. The aim of this new role is to ensure the Department maintains and, where necessary, improves its key performance indicators in relation to the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), Research with Impact (including the REF), and across all other areas of its activities. We are looking for an exceptional individual to take on this new role and be part of shaping the future of the Department activities. The Academic Director will work with the Head of Department to set and help manage the Department of Allied Health Professions annual strategy and the key goals underpinning it, framed by the Faculty's strategy. In particular, the Academic Director will work with the HoD to manage strategically the Student Journey from marketing, outreach recruitment and admissions to progression, retention, graduation and alumni engagement. The Director will also work closely with the HoD to oversee the effective day-to-day operation of the Department.
