A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the children's nursing team within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the West of England - at a time where the potential to contribute to new pathways of nursing education prior to and beyond registration have never been greater.

The successful candidate will join a visionary department and will need to be adaptable, innovative and creative in order to fulfill our aims. There will also be considerable opportunities to develop and contribute to the wider aspirations of UWE.

We are seeking enthusiastic, inspiring individuals to join our successful and highly committed team. The Department of Nursing and Midwifery, in partnership with providers across the south west, makes an active contribution to transforming healthcare practice and to the development and sustainability of a high quality health care workforce.

Children's nursing provision at UWE enjoys a positive partnership with the Bristol Children's Hospital which affords opportunities to contribute to a developing CPD portfolio, whilst the Centre for Child and Adolescent Health offers opportunities to engage with a child focussed professoriate and research team. Integral to our success are activities which enhance the student experience through innovative teaching, learning and assessment strategies. You will contribute to teaching and supporting pre and post registration children's nursing students and those from other fields of nursing and midwifery.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have a high level of insight into contemporary nursing practice and will have experience of teaching and assessment in higher, further or continuing education or in clinical practice. Knowledge of the contemporary theories and concepts that underpin nursing practice and nursing education is essential. Applicants must be registered and practising as a children's nurse on the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) Professional Register, either have achieved, are working towards or are willing to undertake a Master's degree in nursing or a health/education related subject and possess strong evidence of continuing professional development related to their current role.

Additionally individuals will hold a recognised NMC teacher's qualification or be willing to work towards one.

In return you can look forward to joining a thriving academic community.
