Full Time

From humble roots, NFU Mutual has grown to become one of the UK's largest general insurance and financial services organisations. Our ethos - of trust, respect and personal service - lies at the heart of everything we do, and has seen us build an enviable reputation for exceptional member loyalty.

Our employees are important to us. We empower and inspire them to perform, offer opportunities to grow and we recognise and reward their contribution. They are proud to work for a company that respects them and broader communities, and they trust us to be financially sustainable so we are successful now, and in the future.

Group Change

The scale, pace and complexity of change at NFU Mutual is growing. To meet the challenge this presents, Group Programme Management has recently been restructured and rebranded to Group Change.

Group Change provides services to the organisation to define and deliver business change in a holistic, consistent and controlled way that meets the needs of the organisation's strategic objectives and obligations, whilst providing the expected return on investment.

We have a number of exciting new vacancies which will support the service moving forwards and ensure change is delivered to exemplary standards.

The Role

Group Change covers three service areas to the business: Change Delivery; Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Portfolio Management. The Portfolio Managers will work closely with Sponsors and Senior Management to enable the assessment, selection, prioritisation and control of NFU Mutual's projects and programmes in line with its strategic objectives; whilst considering any constraints and capacity to deliver. The goal is to balance Change the Business with Run the Business, whilst optimising return on investment.

As one of four Portfolio Managers, you will use a deep understanding of the business area to which you are assigned to champion its objectives whilst understanding its constraints. Also key will be to balance and align a portfolio of change at divisional level and break down barriers to resolve portfolio issues. You will also be responsible for advocating and influencing the level of control and governance required for local change to mitigate risks to overall change delivery whilst supporting analysis and insight of the portfolio.

Educated to degree level or equivalent you should have PRINCE2 or MSP (or equivalent) qualifications plus ideally Change Management Certification and MoP at practitioner level. You must be able to demonstrate previous experience of portfolio management to include strategic alignment and prioritisation, resource and budget management, dependency planning, risk and issues management and benefits realisation management. With a strong background in project/programme and portfolio management gained in a complex environment you will have proven experience of establishing effective relationships with senior stakeholders, great negotiation skills and work well under timeframe pressure. Whilst a background in a regulated environment would be advantageous, more importantly, you will have an excellent level of financial and commercial acumen.
