  • Do you have experience of working in a regulator or operating within a regulatory environment at a strategic level?
  • Do you have outstanding leadership skills, with an ability to build, motivate and inspire teams in a changing environment?
  • Do you have a sound financial acumen and a good understanding of the commercial environment?

If so, you may be our next Director Regulation, UK Space Agency at the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

The UKSA is an Executive Agency of BEIS. Its departmental sponsorship sits within the Business & Science Group, which is responsible for advising on and delivering Ministers’ priorities on innovation, science and research frameworks and promoting competitiveness in research. The Group supports UK businesses and enterprise; and leads on the Industrial Strategy.

As Director Regulation, you will be in an interesting, high profile, fast-paced and complex, senior leadership role. You will play a key role at the heart of the UK’s space programme, responsible for leading work to reform and shape the UK’s model for regulating space operations for the next 20 years.

You will need to be able to handle an agenda that combines intellectual challenge, influence, leadership and diverse stakeholder relationship management in a complex environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop regulation that not only performs traditional functions of managing risk to the environment (and in particular the orbits critical to global satellite operation) but also enables and opens up space to new markets and technologies.

If you think you have the skills, experience and ambition that we are looking for, we’d love to hear from you.

In return, you will enjoy an excellent rewards package which includes flexible working, childcare vouchers and Civil Service Pension.

Further information about the role and the application and selection process can be found in the candidate information pack below.
