This is an exciting opportunity to work in a field-based role within the Diagnostics and Genomics Division of Agilent for 12 months, as part of the UK and Ireland Applications Specialist Team and to be a key player in delivering innovative technologies, solutions and services to a wide range of customers in cancer diagnostics.

As part of your role:

You will provide in-field technical support to a UK and Ireland Sales Representatives in order to ensure high value sales are progressed, including Customer Facing Team technical visits, on-site demos and workshops, and tender support.

You will provide post-sales support to customers, including on-site instrument and product training, validation support and on-going technical support.

You will help build customer relationships as well as maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.

You will assess competitors whilst on customer sites and report any feedback to the Sales Management Team.

You will provide specialist support for major trade exhibitions and scientific meetings

You will be comfortable travelling throughout the UK and Ireland as up to 75% of your time will be spent travelling

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge & skills:

1) A scientific or technical background combined with a higher qualification to degree level or equivalent.

2) Experience of customer and business interactions.

3) Experience of histopathology techniques and methods, including hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), special stains, immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) methods.

4) Be results driven, self motivated, personable, outgoing, organised, able to work to deadlines and possess a high level of drive and initiative.

5) A current UK driving licence is essential.

6) Previous experience in an Applications / Technical role in a scientific discipline is desirable
