This outstanding trust provides a range of mental health and physical health services to children and adults across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Description: This outstanding trust provides a range of mental health and physical health services to children and adults across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

They now have Band 5 & 6 RMN ward staff nurse positions on their specialist dementia ward offering assessment and treatment of organic mental health problems with dementia.

The hospital work with their patients to understand what triggers this behaviour and what can be done to help alleviate them.

Their ward staff like to get to know their patients and their likes and dislikes. This helps to ensure they are supported more effectively. Their aim is to get the patients to a level of functioning, which allows them to return home to their family or make the transfer to a care home. As soon as a patient is admitted, the staff will start to make plans with the patient and their family to allow this to happen.

Person Specification: You will be responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and may be required to teach other nursing and non-nursing staff.

To be delegated to take responsibility for the co-ordination of a designated caseload in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.

To provide leadership, supervision and support to junior staff both qualified and unqualified in the absence of the Deputy Team Leader and Ward Manager during the course of the normal shift pattern, and to ensure the efficient and effective use of resources available to deliver a high standard of quality care to service users.

To take part in the service rotational training programme.

The hospital are looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who is able to work well within a team and on their own initiative.

You must be a registered RMN with a minimum of 12 months post registration experience.
