JOB TITLE: Deputy Nurse
LOCATION: Middlesbrough
SALARY: GBP16.50 PH

HOURS: x1 FT 38.5 hours
RESPONSIBLE TO: Recruitment Consultant & Branch Manager
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Support service to service users who are vulnerable and elderly/Learning Disabilities (Adults)

These include people with mental health, people with learning, physical or sensory impairments and long term conditions or older people in support needs.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To deliver exceptional standards of care to clients, meeting the personal care needs of the service user in a way that respects the dignity of the individual in line with their care plan, within Care Homes, Hospitals & Specialist Units throughout the Teeside.

DAILY DUTIES:

-As a Deputy nurse your duty will be to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans for service users.
-To oversea/maintain the care of Residents with the Care Home
-Day to day responsibilities running the care home in the absence of the home manager
-Ensure all legal requirements are adhered to within the defined time scales

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

-Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual care plans for service users
-To carry out all nursing interventions in a professional manner in accordance with the NMC code of conduct for nurses
-Ensure all staff members contribute to the best of their ability to the effective running of the Care Home
-To be 'On Call' for advise/action in any emergencies which may arise out of hours
-Supervise professional visits and liaise with GP's

REQUIRED:

-Care Home experience of at least 2 year
-First Level Nursing
-Previous Management experience
-Team Player
-Satisfactory DBS check, employment references
-Eligibility to work in the UK

The post holder must have the ability to communicate effectively with other professionals, colleagues, service users and families/carers and have the ability to support individuals with their personal and intimate needs in a respectful and dignified manner.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Strong people skills are a requirement for almost any job in the social sector but as a nurse these skills will be really tested and essential. The post holder must have an understanding of the changing needs of the elderly and must have regard for the dignity, respect and rights of service users.
